Eat the season with this purple sprouting broccoli recipe

So with the beautiful season changing comes the seasonal produce change, more and more glorious products are available for us to cook with. A couple of my favourites at the moment are purple sprouting broccoli and crab.

I’ve picked a lovely recipe to try at home, simple and delicious. When you’re using produce of this calibre simple remains the best in my humble view!


  • 1 pack or a couple of handfuls of purple sprouting broccoli
  • Rapeseed oil
  • 1 chilli sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic chopped
  • A handful of pumpkin seeds
  • A squeeze of lemon


  1. Heat a wok on high heat with rapeseed oil
  2. Pop in the broccoli – careful though, it’s a really hot pan!
  3. Toss the broccoli for a minute and reduce the heat a little
  4. Pop in the remaining ingredients and toss for another minute and serve immediately with a squeeze of lemon
