Loaded Bloody Mary’s
I mentioned in my last blog ‘Upcoming Food Trends for 2020’ that breakfast is having a real moment and a part of that is Bloody Mary’s. I know it’s January and we’re all trying to be saintly but I personally think that January is hard enough without abstaining from everything!
With this in mind should we allow ourselves some treats? If your answer is YES! Then this recipe will be for you. You can of course have a virgin Mary if you wish, it’s just as delicious.
I’m not sure of its powers of ridding a hangover but if you have one it’s worth a go!
If you can get hold of Old Bay seasoning then do use it as it’s really wonderful and provides a real smokiness, a great addition to your kitchen arsenal.
Ingredients
Serves: 4
- 500ml of really good quality tomato juice
- 100ml vodka
- 1 tbsp of Old Bay seasoning (cajun seasoning work well)
- 1 tbsp celery salt
- A couple shakes of Tabasco (more if you wish)
- Ice
Toppings I’ve used (the world is your oyster here – literally oysters are amazing with this!).
- Salami
- Parma ham
- Cornichons
- Celery sticks
- Cherry tomatoes
- Silverskin onions
Method
- Add everything apart from the toppings into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.
- Pour into long glasses and add some more ice. Now start to dress the drink.
- Using long skewers arrange your toppings, pop in the celery sticks and shake on some extra celery salt.
Enjoy immediately!
